Nutella Stuffed Star Wars Chocolate Candy

You don’t have to be a Star Wars fan to try this candy. Don’t you want to add candy making to your repertoire? Get started by using any of your favorite candy molds you have laying around at home. These sweet treats are crunchy, creamy and rich in flavor just like the chocolate truffles you would purchase at a local specialty candy shop. The recipe was easy and perfect for a weekend afternoon activity with my kids who are Star Wars fanatics and chocolate lovers. Mom hit a home run with this one!

  • Prep Time: 40m
  • Cook Time: 5m
  • Total Time: 45m
  • Yield: 15 small candies
  • Category: Dessert

Ingredients

  • 5 ounces dark chocolate coating pieces
  • 4 ounces nutella
  • silver sugar dust as needed

Equipment Needed

  • dusting brush
  • chocolate mold
  • piping bag
  • medal scraper

Instructions

  1. On low heat, place the dark chocolate in a small-medium bowl over a pot of water (make sure bowl does not touch the water). Melt until smooth, stirring often with a spatula. Remove from heat, let cool down (10-15 minutes).
  2. Brush silver sugar dust into each mold.
  3. Coat the chocolate molds swirling it around and then tip it over to empty out the excess chocolate. Place the mold in the fridge for approximately 10 minutes.
  4. With a piping bag, fill molds with Nutella leaving enough room for the melted chocolate to fill in all around the Nutella. Place the mold in the fridge for approximately 10 minutes.
  5. Add melted chocolate to fill the entire mold and scrape the tops and edges for a smooth chocolate candy. Place the mold in the fridge for approximately 10 minutes.
  6. Pop the chocolate out of the molds and keep in a cool dry place. You can also freeze them.
