Candles made out of butter? Genius! This is such a fun and easy craft to do with your kids and will have your guests oohing and ahhing over the interactive appetizer perfect for any holiday gathering. You can get creative with it by offering different types of bread, creating different candle heights or maybe doing a variety of flavors like smoked sea salt or truffle.
Every time my boys and I go to a restaurant that serves bread, they always ask for extra and they slather on the butter like it is a dip or something. In most cases, I remind them that the butter is to complement the bread, not to be the star of the show. However, when I served this butter candle, it was game on. They could sop up as much butter as they wanted without any discussions on healthy eating or table manners, which usually gets me an eye roll or two.
As the candle gets warmer and meltier, the more you want to grab another piece and go dipping again. It is more addicting than your favorite Italian restaurant garlic breadsticks. If you are looking for a candle that gives you a calming zen type of vibe, this is not your candle. It’s a pour some good red wine, gather with friends and family and “break bread” together type of feeling.
